6am-10am
Hey, I’m Keith Cech Program Director and Morning Show Host on KUOO Campus Radio and Midday Host on Q102. I grew up on a farm outside of Howells, Nebraska (a small town around three hours southwest of the Iowa Great Lakes). I started my career in radio in Norfolk, Nebraska in early 2011. From there, I spent time in Monroe, Wisconsin and
Cloquet, Minnesota. My wife (Jessica), daughter (Ridley) and I moved to the area in March of 2022 which is when my time with KUOO and our family of stations began! (UPDATE: we welcomed another daughter, Parker, to the family in November of 2025!) When I’m not in the studio, I enjoy golfing, spending time with family and…cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Nebraska Cornhuskers (been a rough couple decades). And of course, I love music! Garth Brooks, Bob Seger, Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, Taylor Swift, 3 Doors Down, Olivia Rodrigo, Linkin Park, Rush, Aerosmith, Billie Eilish, Sum 41, George Strait, Bruno Mars, Reba McEntire, Bowling for Soup, Elton John, Joe Diffie, Avril Lavigne, Styx, Billy Joel, The Backstreet Boys…I LOVE IT ALL! Thanks for listening!

6am-10pm
Morning Show Host & News Director
I am the News and Weather Director for KUOO & KUQQ a position I have held ever since I started working here in 1996. Prior to that, I worked as an announcer and News Director at KKOJ in Jackson, Minnesota, where I started my career full time in 1983 after graduating from the broadcasting program at Brown Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sadly, the school no longer exists. I’m a graduate of Spirit lake High School and have lived in the Iowa Great lakes my entire life, other than when I was going to broadcasting school. In my spare time I enjoy bowling and I’m a huge railroad enthusiast.

I’m a mom of two trying to take this crazy world one day at a time. I’ve been here with Community First Broadcasting for several years now, but still feel like the new kid sometimes. Love the people I work with and all the shenanigans we get up to. I’m a huge nerd and OFTEN laugh at my own jokes even if no one else does. Genuinely enjoy being here and learning from the more experienced DJs I’m surrounded by. Still a little stunned they let me talk on the radio at all.

On Air Talent & Assistant News Director
I grew up on a farm just outside of Sherburn, MN and attended Martin County West High School and graduated in 1993. I played volleyball, basketball and softball in high school and even ran track for a couple of years before deciding softball was better than running hurdles. I grew up with 3 brothers so it’s no wonder why I love sports so much. After graduating high school, I attended Willmar Community College where I played 3 sports while working towards my Associate of Arts Degree. I then transferred to St. Cloud State University to complete my Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis on radio broadcasting. My professional career has been all over the place as I go out of radio for about 20 years until I finally got the chance to get back into it full time with Community First Broadcasting. Once you catch the radio bug it’s really hard to get rid of. I love all MN sports teams but especially the MN Lynx and the MN Frost as they are women’s teams that know how to win. The Vikings, well I love them, but they frustrate me every week ha ha. I am an Aunt to 6 and a great aunt to 8 and they are my pride and joy as I love being an auntie. I am really excited to get to be a part of your afternoons on KUOO and will do my best to make the end of each workday a good one.
